1900's
Gasoline, Steam and Electric. Who will dominate?
1910's
A car becomes affordable for everyone, the Model T.
1920's
Roaring 20’s. Cars begin to be closed to the elements
1930's
The Great Depression. Many marques disappear. The grandest cars of all.
1940's
The War years. Production stops and some manufactures build equipment for the war.
1950's
Styling begins to evolve. Show cars. The beginning of highways and suburbs.
1960's
Big horsepower in a smaller package. Ralph Nader pushes the gov’t for safety.
1970's
Changing times. Oil embargo. Small cars from Asia. Pollution devices starts to affect horsepower.
1980's
Birth of the minivan. Technology is starting to take hold in engines. Robots are introduced in manufacturing.
1990's
Technology finally catches up with government regulations. We now have developed ways to implement new materials etc.
2000's
Oil supply concerns again, and the gas/hybrid vehicle is introduced. Global warming concerns.
2010's
Changing tastes. Cars no longer dominate. SUV’s, CUV’s and Pickups are more popular.
2020's
360 degree safety innovations all around the car. Level 3 Autonomy or driver-less automation is being developed by more and more manufacturers.
